Check out Sony’s latest smartphone – it packs Motion Eye, a slow-motion video feature that records at 960 fps!
First seen at MWC 2017, the Sony Xperia XZs is part of Sony Mobile’s offerings for the early-half of this year.
Sony Mobile Singapore handed us a lovely Xperia XZs in Ice Blue. The phone is also available in other colors - Warm Silver and Black.
This smartphone is built to bring the Motion Eye feature on the Xperia XZ Premium to a smaller form factor with a 5.2-inch display. You can read more about capturing 960FPS footage with the XZ Premium (and XZs) here.
In many ways, it is similar to last year’s Xperia XZ, right down to its size. Inside the XZs, you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which was also available within its predecessor.
The Xperia XZs packs 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB options. On the other hand, the XZ from 2016 only had 3GB RAM. Also, it now has a 19-megapixel rear camera, while its predecessor had one at 23-megapixels resolution instead.
The phone supports two nano SIM cards, but you can choose to have extra storage via MicroSD (up to 256GB).
It also has a USB Type-C port. Despite that, the body’s rated with IP65/68 water-proofing. Gone were the days where Sony sealed up ports for water-proofed phones!
Well, it may not have the most current hardware, but it does launch at a lower price tag than its predecessor. The Xperia XZs retails at S$898 (Xperia XZ was S$998).
If you’re really into Sony’s 2017 compact-sized smartphone, don’t forget that you can already pre-order the device (details here). The Sony Xperia XZs will officially launch on 22nd April 2017.
