The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a 5.8-inch IPS LCD 4k display with a 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution (~765ppi). However, it's also one of the biggest and heaviest phones out there, measuring 158 x 80 x 11.9 mm and weighing 236g.

The phone is available in two finishes: Chrome Black (pictured) and Chrome Silver. Both are mirror-like finishes that look great, but are also fingerprint magnets. Like the XZ2, the fingerprint scanner is located a lot lower than usual, sitting right in the middle of the rear of the phone.

The XZ2 Premium is the first Sony smartphone to sport a dual rear camera setup, pairing a 19-megapixel f/1.8, 25mm, 1/2.3-inch, 1.22µm RGB lens with a 12-megapixel f/1.6, 1/2.3-inch, 1.55µm monochrome lens. The camera setup focuses on low-light performance, and the camera is able to record videos at ISO 12,800 sensitivity, and photos at ISO 51,200.

On the bottom of the phone there's a single USB-C port and a small microphone port. Like the XZ2, the phone does not have a headphone port. Two front-facing stereo speakers can be found above and below the display.

On the right hand side, the power button is also located quite low on the phone. You'll also find the volume rocker here at the top and a dedicated camera shutter button at the bottom.
