Lazada occupies four of the eleven floors of 51 Bras Basah Road. Both their Singapore and regional teams are located here as are the staff of their parent company Alibaba.
While the main offices are upstairs, the Lazada Visitor Centre is on the first floor for assorted 'meet-and-greet' sessions. Visitors will be greeted by the company mascot Lazzie the Lion. The official opening ceremony of Lazada One was held here and officiated by the official Guest of Honour, Josephine Teo, the Minister for Communications and Information of Singapore.
This is where the Lazada Singapore team sits. Visitors are welcomed by the mural and comfortable furniture akin to a living room.
Unlike other offices that have a central gathering spot, each floor has its own cafeteria with drinks and snacks that can be had by all. Each is also themed differently. However, the one located on the 5th floor is the largest.
Some of the other tables are reminiscent of those found in old HDB estates. Right down to the Chinese chess inlay on the top. Other themes include a coffeeshop and the familiar black and white colonial houses.
With 109,000 sqft of floor space across the different floors, the new office even has a few "living walls". Here moss and ferns add greeny to relieve the monotony of being in an office. It also helps improve the air quality in the office.
Each floor has a mural at the entrance. This features the Lazada ecosystem from the Alibaba parent company and down through the different subsidiaries under the Lazada umbrella.
Each floor has a number of meeting pods for 1 to 6 people. The larger ones come with facilities for video conferences as part of Lazada's commitment to facilitating collaboration both within the building and across its offices in the region.
There are also standing conference rooms for those who want a bit of exercise during the day. Larger conference rooms are also available each named after landmarks of Singapore like Bras Basah, Marina Bay Sands, the Esplanade, and Universal Studios Singapore for example. Another floor has its meeting rooms named after local shopping malls.
With the Redmart team located in the office, they have to sample those that they plan to include under their house brand.
