PC Show 2008 - The Full Coverage (Part 2)

Eastgear and Epson Booths

Eastgear's Booth

EastGear's booth was crowded with consumers looking for affordable GPS devices.

The Holux GPSmile 55 was going for $399 for the first 20 customers per day. If you weren't one of the early 20, there's always the show rate of $499 for the device.

Besides GPS devices, EastGear was also selling the VP8860 Multimedia Storage Viewer at a range of prices from $499 (case only) to $679 (320GB). The VP8860 features a 4.3-inch color TFT screen at a resolution 800 x 480 pixels and supports RAW and EXIF data display. Besides photos, the VP8860 also does music and movie playback.

Avid photographers will love this zippy device that allows you to backup your memory cards on the go. The $199 Nexto eXtreme ND-2700 automatically backs up your data on your flash cards (at a rate of 1GB in 40 seconds), so you can just back up your photos and continue snapping away. In case you're wondering, do note that the unit doesn't come with a HDD and it's your choice to fill it with an appropriate capacity drive.

Epson's Booth

Over at Epson's booth, we were told to exceed our vision (well, as far as tag lines go at least). Even so, we think our vision should be fixated on the deals from Epson's printer lineup, so here's a few for you to choose from during this year's PC Show.

We have the Epson Stylus CX7300, with 4INKdividual DURABrite Ultra catridges and print speeds of up to 32ppm, all for the price of $178 and bundled with a free sports goodie bag worth $49.

Another sales offer from Epson as seen here, the Epson Stylus C110, with high printing speeds of up to 37ppm for draft and 25ppm on its default mode, which is achieved via its Dual Black ink system for double black print speed. And this offer is going at $168 for all you printer hunters out there.

Shaving $20 off its usual price and tagged at $208, the Epson Stylus CX8300 comes with a 2.5-inch color LCD viewer that allows you to check your printing queue with ease.

The biggest bargain we found over at the Epson booth is the $88 Epson Stylus T10, and is hot off the production line too. In other words, if you are just seeking a basic printer, you can't go wrong with the very affordable T10 here.
