Nokia E71 - An Enterprising Move

Nokia E71 - An Enterprising Move

Right after the launch of its updated N-series device, the Nokia N78, our focus was diverted back to the Enterprise series with the unveiling of Nokia's answer to the Nokia E61's heir, the E71. The full QWERTY keyboard on the E71 should be a familiar sight, and there's more to behold with its stainless steel case and slim form factor. Putting our superficial observations aside, the E71 is bundled with business-centric features that includes Microsoft Exchange and supports various other e-mail protocols, with popular ones such as Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail thrown in for good measure. As expected, Share on Ovi will be playing a major role in the E-series devices, and the E71 is pre-loaded with the Share on Ovi client, allowing you to upload your documents at HSDPA speeds with ease. And we've got some good news for our readers: the Nokia E71 will be making its appearance in retail stores by July 2008!

The Nokia E71, equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, utilizes the latest Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, and supports microSD expandability of up to 8GB and comes with an internal memory of 110MB. The standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support are seen here, and not to mention the E71 is also HSDPA-enabled for the mobile internet.

If you need further convincing of the petite nature of the Nokia E71, take note of how dainty it looks in the hand of this model right here. Need more evidence?

Here's a close-up shot of the Nokia E71. As you can see, the 114 x 57 x 10mm dimensions, coupled with its 126g weight and its easy on the hands full QWERTY keyboard, will be the centre of attention for this smartphone.
