Race to 32 Million - MSI MOA 2010 Begins!

Posted at 1:30pm

The first phase of MSI MOA 2010 has just began and contestants are now busy prepping their systems to run Super PI. The objective of this phase is to try and clock the possible fastest time in calculating the famous mathematical constant Pi (π) to 32 million digits.

Contestants wasted no time in ripping out the components' stock coolers and replacing them with their own customized ones. Here is NightRaven from Singapore making modifications to the MSI N480GTX Lightning graphics card.

Since Super PI is a CPU intensive benchmark, some teams opted to leave the graphics card untouched and work on the CPU instead.

As sure as the sun rises in the East, no overclocking competition will be complete with super-cool liquid nitrogen (LN2).

The competition hall is a flurry of mad activity as contestants race against the clock in attempts to post their best time.

Coolaler doesn't seem too pleased with his results.

A successful run!

Team XFastest.com comprising of Nick Shih and Tin Tin raced to an early lead with a time of 6 mins 28.23 seconds.
