Viewsonic and Western Digital Booths

Viewsonic's Booth

Full HD is now the norm for LCD monitor brands, as they have reached at least 24-inches and are even capable of 1080p resolutions on 22, 23-inch displays.

The Viewsonic VA1928wm is a 19-inch widescreen LCD with a native resolution of 1440 x 900 and a response time of 5mns. There is both DVI and analog outputs on it along with built-in speakers on this $179 monitor.

Another cheap 19-inch widescreen on display is the VA1916w, which also has a resolution of 1440 x 900. It only has an analog interface but it costs only $165.

Here is one of the full HD models from Viewsonic, the VX2260wm, which is a 22-inch display capable of doing 1920 x 1080. It has a 2ms response time and contrast ratio of 20,000:1. Additionally, you'll find HDMI/DVI/Analog interfaces and Viewsonic even throws in a free HDMI cable. All that for $288.

Western Digital's Booth

It's all about the digital media at Western Digital's booth.

This small, unassuming black box is the main highlight of the Western Digital booth. The WD TV HD media player as it is known, can play most of your audio and video files, including up to 1080p quality. It comes with a variety of AV ports and has two USB 2.0 ports. Western Digital is bundling this media player with its portable external HDD, with a 500GB My Passport and the WDTV at just $339. A 320GB bundle will cost you $269.90 while the standalone WD TV is $199.90.

Some of the prices and products from Western Digital on sale at the IT Show 2009. As you may have noticed, these prices are extremely competitive with its rivals, Seagate and Maxtor.
