HP and Compaq Booths

HP's Booth

Students get a treat from HP, with the HP Pavilion tx2028AU Entertainment Notebook PC. Powered by AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technolody TL-60 (2.0GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 cache) and 2GB of DDR2 RAM, the tx20208AU is designed for students in mind, with its touch screen and digitize screen interface and integrated 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN and Bluetooth. Priced at $1699 (usual retail price: $2828) only for students, this 12.1-inch notebook should be a hot favorite amongst students during this IT Show.

More offers from HP for our hardworking students. Running on Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4600 (2.4GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB) and 1GB of DDR2 RAM with a SATA hard disk capacity of 250GB, the HP Pavilion s3385 Slimline PC is offered to students at $1199 (usual retail price at $1699), inclusive of a W1907 LCD monitor.

Fret not, there are offers for the general consumers too! Priced at $149 (usual price: $209), the new HP Laserjet P1005 printer is an ultra-compact printer with power-packed features, including 14ppm, 150-sheet input capacity and instant-on technology. What's more, the first 300 customers get to enjoy a free designer skin for their Laserjet P1005, as you see here.

And, the star buy for HP printers, is definitely the HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One printer, with built-in networking capabilities for your office print network. With printing speeds of up to 30ppm (black) and 24ppm (color), the Officejet 6310 is going for $299 (usual price $399).

Compaq's Booth

With its diverse range of consumer desktops and notebooks, Compaq was naturally to be found at the IT Show, but with their own booth this time instead of sharing with parent HP.

Rated as a Star Buy by Compaq's sales people, the Presario SR5378CF desktop certainly fits the bill, what with its $999 price for an Intel Core 2 Duo powered system with 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB SATA hard drive. Free gifts include a choice of Singapore Flyer tickets, HP Easy Clip, an all-in-one Deskjet printer or an upgrade to HP's Total Care scheme.

One of more competitively priced notebooks at the IT Show is the Compaq Presario A906TU at $1299. For that, you'll get a Pentium Dual Core processor T2330, 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB hard drive. There's also wireless LAN with Bluetooth and a SuperMulti DVD writer. Buyers also get to choose from Compaq's list of freebies.
