Dell's Booth

Bundled systems are a time-saver, and if you need a high-powered PC, the Dell XPS 420 could be a perfect choice. Powered by Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600, with 2GB DDR2 SDRAM and a 320GB hard disk, the XPS 420 comes packaged with Windows Vista Home Premium. Furthermore, for this year's IT Show, consumers gets S$50 cash off from its S$2349 pricing and a free upgrade from a 19-inch to a 20-inch Dell widescreen flat panel monitor.

If it's an entry level desktop you're searching for, the Dell Inspiron 530s could be the one, priced at a reasonable S$1049. Bundled with Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160, 1GB DDR2 SDRAM and a decent storage capacity of 250GB, you also get Windows Vista Home Premium and a 20-inch LCD monitor for this decent desktop.

The Dell Inspiron 1420, priced at S$1649, comes with a whopping 3GB DDR2 SDRAM, and runs on Intel's Centrino Duo platform and Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7250. With an integrated 2.0-megapixel webcam on its 14.1-inch WXGA screen, you get to throw in Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 OEM version for an additional S$210.

24-inch LCD monitors are coming to town, and Dell's latest 24-inch UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor (2408WFP), supports resolution of up to 1920 x 120, at a high contrast ratio of 3000:1. Further more, the myriad of interface ports on the 2408WFP is quite impressive, with VGA, DVI-D with HDCP, S-Video, Composite, Component HDMI and DisplayPort. With a service warranty of 3 years, the 2408WFP is priced at S$1299, steep, but well worth the investment.

Or, if you're going for a cheaper upgrade, consider the Dell 17-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor (SE178WFP), priced at S$259 after $90 cash off. Utilizing an analog interface, the SE178WFP supports resolution of up to 1440 x 900, with contrast ration as high as 800:1 and a response time of 8ms, suitable for basic computing purposes.
