Sony's Booth

It was early when we got there but a small crowd had formed at the Sony PlayStation 3 booth, waiting to try their hand at the console.

Ridge Racer 7 is one of the few decent games released for the Sony PlayStation 3 so it's not surprising that Sony is showing it off at the booth.

Not forgetting that the Sony PlayStation 3 is a very capable Blu-ray player. It may in fact be the cheapest Blu-ray player available for Singaporeans now.

The first DSLR camera from Sony, the Alpha has its fans and detractors alike. If you're the former, the $1799 price for the DSLR-A100K/B should be good news, especially with the free gifts including a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and a carrying case.

Sony's Cyber-shot of digital cameras come in pink, blue, silver and black to attract users from both genders. The cheapest model, the DSC-W55, a 7.2-megapixel camera with a 2.5-inch LCD is priced at $399.

Sony has gone high definition in a big way and most of its new handy camcorders are now capable of recording in full HD. Prices start from $1999.

The very expensive VAIO AR38GP is the world's first Blu-ray notebook. 2GB of RAM, a GeForce Go 7600 GT and a Core 2 Duo processor make this a rather powerful notebook. It also has a very high price of $6999, though Sony has tried to lessen it by including generous gifts like a 32-inch Bravia LCD TV!

This new series of VAIO notebooks from Sony aim for a younger and hip crowd with its bright and fresh colors. And for once, these notebooks are very affordable, with prices starting from $1999.

The latest creation from Sony, the VAIO LA38GP is an unique PC and notebook hybrid with a foldable keyboard and an integrated display. It's powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 processor with 1GB of RAM and 120GB hard drive.

Here's another look of the VAIO LA38GP with the keyboard folded up.

The ultra portable Sony VAIO TX series weigh in at slightly over 1kg but the lesser the material, the more expensive the notebook. This series start at $2999 for a Core Solo U1400 based model to $3699 for a version with a faster processor and a larger hard drive.
