Drones have taken over the main atrium of Plaza Singapura!
The centerpiece of the invasion seems to be a " fenced" up circuit with obstacles both on the ground and in the air.
It's really a circuit that gives you a chance to test out your drone flying skills courtesy of Science Centre Singapore.
The obstacle course involves objects on the ground to fly around and hoops suspended in the air to fly through.
Of course, there are other activities going on if the queue is too long, like this virtual drone flying station here.
Learn how to fold your own motorized paper flyer at this station. A total of seven designs can be learnt here, each with their own aerodynamic properties.
There's also a drone crafting station where you can learn to design and build customized mini-drones using art and craft materials.
This station lets you assemble your own motorized drone, complete with pilot.
There's another station that lets you program a drone flight! Just drag and drop blocks of commands and hit start, and the drone will execute them - no coding required. Hit this link for an example of what's possible.
You might also want to look out for this guy while you're shopping. These drones are going around to snap pictures of shoppers. You'll also get a stamp which goes towards collecting a special prize (you'll need three different stamps to qualify). The X'mas drones will be there from now till 16 Dec, 11am-830pm and there will also be drone shows from 8-830pm daily, so do check it out if you're in the area!
