HWZ Deal Alert: 26th September 2016

BBBMTL!

It's a slow, blue Monday, so you know the drill: Let's do some online shopping!

1.) Anker PowerLine USB-C to USB 3.0 cable

I like Anker power banks and USB chargers. I also like its cables, such as this 1.8m PowerLine USB-C to USB 3.0 cable that’s now going for US$12 on Amazon. Strengthened with aramid fiber, it also has a 56KΩ pull-up resistor for enhanced safety and reliability, especially when connecting to older USB type devices.

2.) Sony Xperia X Compact

Ok, this is more for those who simply can’t wait. The Sony Xperia X Compact, which is still being listed as “coming soon” on Sony Mobile Singapore’s website is now available on Amazon for US$500. Available in black, blue, and white, the Xperia X Compact has a 4.6-inch HD display, 23MP rear camera with triple image sensing technology, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor.

We do expect the Xperia X Compact and XZ to be available in Singapore soon, so once again, consider this a PSA for those who simply can’t wait.

3.) 6TB HGST Deskstar NAS HDD

(Screenshot from Lazada.)

Looking for a high-capacity drive for your NAS? Storage Studio on Lazada has several HGST Deskstar NAS HDDs for sale, including this 6TB one that’s going for S$333.50 (street price seems to be around S$380). A 7,200RPM drive with 128MB cache, it comes with a 3-year limited warranty fulfilled by Storage Studio. (Update: Since we published this article, this product listing has been updated to state that the drive comes with local manufacturer warranty.) If 6TB is too much, 4TB and 3TB versions are also available.

Editor's note and disclaimer: The deals are not an endorsement or recommendation of the product from the editorial team. Instead, the listed items present themselves as a good deal based on the novelty factor and how much of a discount it is being offered from standard retail pricing at the time of publishing.
