Without further ado, let's get down to
business the deals.
Zolo, a sub-brand of Anker, has this Halo Bluetooth speaker that touts premium audio hardware (5W high-excursion speaker and bass port) and Alexa integration. The latter is important, as it means the smart speaker will play nice with the over 10,000 Alexa skills, and integrate with Alexa-compatible smart home devices. Like the Amazon Echo speakers, the Halo has far-field voice-recognition technology, so Alexa will hear you from across the room. Amazon is now selling the speaker for US$40 (usual price is around US$60).
If for whatever reason you don’t like the Google Chromecast or the Amazon Fire TV Stick, the 2017 Roku Streaming Stick is now going for US$40 on Amazon. Like Amazon’s offering, it comes with a dedicated remote, offers both iOS and Android apps for control, and supports voice search. The Streaming Stick supports 1080p video streaming though; if you need 4K or HDR, there’s the Streaming Stick+, which as of this writing is going for US$63.82.
The HiFiMAN HE560 is a pair of full-size planar magnetic headphones designed for reference use in the home or studio. It uses single-ended drivers, only needs a modest-size amplifier to drive, and is fairly comfortable to wear compared to its peers. Easily going for over S$1,000 here, Adorama is selling it now for US$350.
