On top of that, the bright f/2.0 lens (at the widest focal length) is certainly welcome for those low light situations. 24mm is the widest the LX3 can go, but if you have a penchant for wider angles, slap on the extension tube and the wide-angle converter DMW-LW46, and you'll be good to go. Close focus wide-angle photography just got a whole lot more interesting.

The LX3 is more capable than most other compacts out there. For example, the camera can shoot at 3 different aspect ratios - 3:2, 4:3, 16:9 - and it can do so simultaneously. Simply set your shooting preference to Multi-Aspect, and squeeze off after framing. You'll see the overlay of all three aspects on the screen, so framing isn't all that hard.

You can easily shoot off three different photos in various Film Modes. From left to right: Dynamic Black & White, Nostalgic, Vibrant.

Another interesting capability of the LX3 is its ability to shoot in different Film Modes, much like what you can do with the Multi-Aspect capability. Select Multi-Film under the Film Mode selection, set your three different modes, and fire off whenever. Three photos will be recorded, saving you the hassle of having to post-process later (assuming that you shoot in RAW and intend to post-process later).
