Tour of docomo Smartphone Lounge in Yurakucho

A Smartphone Haven

The docomo Smartphone Lounge showcases a huge range of smartphones and tablets for customers to toy with.

We spotted the Xperia ray amidst a row of smartphones. Pre-sale orders have been opened since 12th of August.

Seen here is the Japan-only Xperia acro (a variant of the Xperia arc), and a demonstration of a Japan-only mobile terrestrial digital audio/video and data broadcasting app called 1seg. Along with the phone's retractable antennae, 1seg allows users to watch digital media on the go.

A docomo WiFi accessory allows you to access Internet on multiple mobile devices on the go.

The LG L-03C is part camera, part smartphone. The device resembles a compact from the front - mode dial, Pentax lens, camera grip - but once flipped on its back, the LG L-03C looks and works like a regular smartphone.

As seen from the poster above, docomo has singled out a few new smartphones, including the Xperia ray, to recommend to the female population.

Phone covers made specifically for females are not uncommon in Japan. Here, we spotted a collection of pink covers made specifically for the NEC MEDIAS WP smartphone.

Next up, we headed down to the famous Sony Building in Ginza. The building features Sony shops, product showrooms and an area that introduces the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in 3D.
