Our last gaming benchmark is from Dawn of War 2, a real-time strategy game. Here, we saw the Intel system leading at the lower resolution but as we increased that, the AMD system came out ahead marginally. The fact that the AMD system has the most memory (4GB in total) of all three systems here may be a reason why this benchmark, with its many units on-screen, turned out as it did.

Power Consumption

While the Intel based system mostly had the advantage in the benchmarks, the power consumption result was a win for AMD. With both systems differing only in the motherboard and processor, the AMD system came out tops in both idle power and peak power draw. The Intel system uses the rather power hungry ASUS Rampage II Extreme, which could explain this finding.
