The deals I used in 2021
2021 saw more WFH, but also some great tech, and tech deals. As we wind out 2021, here is a look back at some deals that I actually spent on as I got my home office kitted out.
Note that some products may charge for shipping.
Apple M1 Mac Mini
I decided that I didn’t need a laptop any more thanks to the small form factor of the Apple Mac Mini. Running on Apple’s M1 processor, it has 8 CPU cores, 8 GPU cores and can be configured with up to 16GB of memory and up to 2TB of SSD storage. There are also two USB-C ports with support for Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4. It also has two USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port and support for Wi-Fi 6.
Buy the 256GB model now for S$934 (U.P. S$979).

Omnidesk Ascent
When I was setting up my home office, I wanted a standing desk, so Omnidesk was the first solution I thought of. With multiple options for length, size, finishing etc, it was simple to decide on the options that suited me.
Pre-order the Omnidesk Ascent for delivery in January. Buy the basic model now for S$900 (U.P. S$1,408) without any add-ons. It comes with a five-year warranty although assembly may cost extra.

Samsung 49-inch LC49G95TSSEXXS DQHD Monitor
My Mac Mini lacks an external display, so I decided to go big. Really big. I’m getting older so the bigger the monitor, the easier it is for me to get my work done. At least that was what I told my wife when I bought myself the Samsung 49-inch LC49G95TSSEXXS DQHD Monitor. It features 5120 x 1440 display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and support for both G-Sync and AMD FreeSync.
You can buy it now for S$2,288 (U.P. S$2,899)

Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 XL
When it came time to work from home, the comfort of my backside was of prime importance. I knew I’d be spending a lot of time seated looking at my computer so having a chair that would support my spine and backside was essential. This was why, like many of us, I turned to Secretlab. Available in three sizes, the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022’s SoftWeave Plus Fabric has been made softer, more breathable and even more durable. Its armrest design has been improved with a new magnetic replacement system that Secretlab calls CloudSwap.
Buy with XL now for S$679 (U.P. S$789) and get free shipping too.
