Computex 2010 Show Coverage - Part 1

We trawled the halls of Nangang and in this segment, we bring you highlights from AMD, Albatron, AOpen, Biostar, Genius, Mio, PowerColor, SanDisk, Sapphire, Thermalright and Triplex.

AMD took the chance to push forth their "Vision" initiative, a system of categorizing systems according to needs and purpose instead of raw specifications.

This MSI AIO system, for example, is ideal for web browsing, E-mail, photo vieiwing, watching HD videos, music and light content creation. As you can see, Vision makes do without raw system specifications.

While the MSI AIO is a basic system, these here are categorized under the Vision Black label, which means they are equipped with Black Edition processors. These are high-end machines for gamers and enthusiasts.

Albatron's booth was a healthy mixture of multi-touch displays, motherboards, graphics cards and memory.

AOpen's booth had some interesting SFF systems and a no-glasses 3D display.

A card that caught our eye was this TH67XE, which is based on the new H67 chipset designed specially for the yet to be released Sandy Bridge processors. Naturally, the new boards also support USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps.

The Moov V780 is almost a full-fledged tablet PC. Besides navigation, it even plays HD videos (up to 720p), and has WiFi, WiMax and 3G connectivity. That aside, even has a built-in Flash-capable browser, web mail support for Microsoft Exchange and also Gmail.

In the works is the Radeon HD 5770 Evo, a card that will feature a Hydra chip that will allow it to be used in multi-GPU configurations with any graphics card - even NVIDIA ones!

SanDisk's booth was all about storage, storage and more storage.

We paid a visit to Sapphire to see what new ATI cards they have up their sleeves.

The triple fan Sapphire HD 5970 Toxic Edition caught our eye. It comes with a massive 4GB framebuffer and it factory-overclocked at 900MHz at the core and 4800MHz DDR at the memory.

Running the super intensive FurMark benchmark, the GTX 480 card recorded a maximum operating temperature of only 62 degrees Celsius! A reference design card would manage around 90 degrees Celsius, so this is a tremendous improvement.
