HP's Booth Continued

1 contrast, 400nits brightness, HDMI/HDCP connection, four USB 2.0 ports, automatic ambient light sensor and some very business-like functions such as being able to rotate to portrait mode. You can also see HP's new monitor clip on accessories called the Easy Clip, which can be used to hold things like photos or earphones around your monitor.

Specifications aren't really the main attraction in HP's dv2800 Artist Edition notebooks, but its skin, which features the world's first consumer generated notebook finish design. At first, we thought that HP would be offering an option to custom build-to-order notebooks, but then that was a little too much wishful thinking on our part.

The HP dv2800 Artist Edition notebook will actually only feature this one particular design, which was the winner of HP's recent Take Action/Make Art contest. So, while you'll still get a really funky notebook, it is still going to be just one design.

Moving over to the Gaming portion, HP has teamed up with VoodooPC to create two extreme gaming PCs. The HP Backbird 002 is the highlight of the show. It comes with system-wide liquid cooling, isolated thermal chambers for specific components, easy access, tool-less design and overclocking friendly. It also features a base stand - called the Hover - a case aluminum footing with a cantilevered design to facilitate airflow under the case, making it possible for that 1.1kW PSU to sit there with ease. Best of all, it uses all standard components, so users can modify/upgrade as they please.

Since HP partnered with VoodooPC to design the Blackbird 002, it was quite natural for them to pimp VoodooPC's own Voodoo Omen casing as well. What really set us drooling however, was this 24K fully gold plated Omen.

 More of the Gold Omen.

We just couldn't have enough of it.
