MSI's Crystal Collection

MSI's Crystal Collection

The yellow corner of MSI's booth houses a wide range of notebooks and you can tell that MSI is seriously considering a pie of this market. First up, let's take a look at their highly publicized Crystal Collection.

MSI's Crystal Notebook series bloomed to a total of 4 models. The Crystal collection offers a shiny UV gloss coating on the screen, Amazing Crystal Vision technology for higher color fidelity and most importantly, 120 pieces of Austrian Swarovski crystal inlay on the notebook cover.

This is the MSI S300 Crystal notebook, the original notebook to spearhead the Crystal collection. With a 13.3-inch WXGA screen, this handy 2kg notebook is based on Intel 945GM platform and uses Intel Merom (Core 2 Duo) mobile processors. And it has 4 speakers!

Here's a 15.4-inch notebook from the multimedia series given the Crystal treatment. The M677 Crystal boasts a GeForce Go 7600 graphics module for good gaming performance while maintaining its style and exclusivity of the Crystal series. It also has built-in Bluetooth and a 1.3MP webcam integrated.

Even the professional series has a Crystal counterpart, though it seems a little of a mismatch. In any case, this 12-inch PR210 Crystal has a finger print reader, TPM module, 1.3MP webcam, TV-tuner and even a HDMI port. Based on the next generation Centrino mobile architecture, we believe it would based on the GM965 series and uses standard Intel Merom processors.

The gaming series wasn't sparred either and here's the upcoming GX710 Crystal (though the notebook's cover design may not be brought to the retail model). Specs include a high-speed Turion 64 X2 processor, next generation DX10 GPU, built-in Bluetooth, 1.3MP webcam, HDMI output and impressive audio via four speakers a built-in subwoofer.

There's modestly decorated and there's lavishly decorated, of which the latter is the best description for this notebook! Just check out the crystals all around the touchpad. A little excessive don't you think?
