From 1 December 2021 to 2 January 2022, Lazada has a pop-up showcase sitting along Orchard Road (outside of Wisma Atria) where it highlights the accessibility and legitimacy of its verified products on its platform.

Isn't the platform an online-only e-commerce site? True, but Lazada said that the pop-up showcase combines the authenticity of offline shopping - especially for branded goods - with the accessibility of its LazMall and LazMall Prestige verification channels.

The pop-up showcase features highly sought-after products, all with a Lazada QR code leading to its authentic listing on the e-commerce platform. For example, this limited edition LeSportsac bag is a collaboration between the U.S. bag brand and Dick Bruna's Miffy character (specifically Miffy in the Snow).

Brands featured at the LazMall half of the pop-up include the likes of Casio, Garmin, Lego, LeSportsac, Metro, Muji, Playline Friends, Pristine Aroma, Rebecca Minkoff, Restrosuperfuture and WMF.

It's not just popular products that need to establish online authenticity, especially when it comes to external platforms. Over in the LazMall Prestige half are upmarket brands that cater to luxury use, like Bacha Coffee, Bang & Olufsen, Estée Lauder, Furla, HERA, Lancôme, Longines, Michael Kors, Moët Hennessy, Sulwahsoo, Vertu and more.

LazMall is an authentic-products-only platform that verifies and deals with brands directly. The effort they undertake in ensuring representation of the real deal is reflected in the policies they have for the products featured. If you somehow receive a non-authentic product, you're entitled to your money back, but twofold instead of the usual 100% return. It's not exactly a unique proposition, but it's an increasingly important aspect to a safer online shopping experience these days.

LazMall Prestige works on the same authentic-only principle, but for products and goods that are even harder to find outside of brand-owned platforms (some don't even have an active online presence). Because these partnerships are unique tie-ups with Lazada, the e-commerce site also receives special platform-only bundles and kits - like the first dibs on collab products from Lesportsac seen earlier.

With the festive season in mind, LazMall Prestige buyers also gain access to a gift wrapping station. Buyers can pick up gift-wrapping materials to personalise their LazMall Prestige presents. In addition, Lazada has furoshiki and calligraphy workshops on Fridays to Sundays (2PM to 6PM) during the course of the pop-up's showcase.

To complete the offline-to-online experience, the pop-up also has a photo spot - a festive, heart-shaped display for the 'gram and your TikTok videos. In addition, the "Deals Nearby" feature on the Lazada app will also show visitors for a list of F&B choices with Lazada discounts within the Orchard Road area.

The leftmost side of the pop-up features a S$2 vending machine mystery surprise dip. While everything inside the machine is worth more than S$2, visitors can purchase a 'ticket' via the Lazada app (by scanning the QR code on the machine), and a pop-up showcase assistant will help you retrieve your mystery item.

“After the amazing success of last year’s pop-up event, we wanted to celebrate the expansion of LazMall Prestige, our premium product channel, on LazMall, and as the official eCommerce partner of ORBA (Orchard Road Business Association), there is no better way to connect with shoppers than in the heart of Orchard Road with an Online-to-Offline engagement," said Carey Chong, Chief Operating Officer of Lazada Singapore.
If you're visiting the pop-up showcase, let us know what caught your eye! Note that visitors and attendees are expected to adhere to ongoing social distancing regulations, and that there will be Lazada-appointed assistants on-site. The showcase is open from 1 December 2021 to 2 January 2022, from 10AM to 10PM daily. More info here.
