The Coolpix P7700 is Nikon's latest flagship digital compact camera. The lens is enticing, a long 7.1x optical zoom (28–200mm in 35mm equivalent) with a wide aperture of f/2.0 at the widest to f/4.0 at the longest. Comes with lens-shift VR stabilization and has a built-in three-stop ND filter. Image sensor is a large 1/1.7" 12.2MP backside-illuminated CMOS chip. The P7700 is no specs slouch when placed against its competition, it may not have the largest sensor but it has the furthest zoom range.

The Coolpix L610 is Nikon's new compact super-zoom camera, with a far-seeing 14x optical zoom (25-350mm in 35mm equivalent). Comes with a 16MP backside-illuminated CMOS sensor and Full-HD 1080p video recording.
The Coolpix S6400 packs an impressive 12x optical zoom into a slim body with a 16MP image sensor.
The Nikon 1 J2 and the new Nikkor 1 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 lens plus WP-N1 underwater case have been announced before but this was the first time we'd seen them in person. With the Nikon 1's 2.7x crop factor the new lens works out to the 35mm equivalent of 30-74mm, a rough 2.5x zoom. The WP-N1 underwater case is both compatible with the Nikon 1 J1 and J2.
