YouTube has announced the launch of YouTube Premium Lite that offers viewers in Singapore the option of enjoying most videos ad-free for S$7.98 per month.
YouTube stresses that it’s “most” videos as ads may still appear on music content and Shorts, and when users search or browse. Premium Lite, on the other hand, will give users an ad-free video streaming experience on YouTube across its main content categories, like gaming, comedy, cooking and more.
For users seeking ad-free music on YouTube and YouTube Music, plus offline downloads and background play, the streaming company recommends subscribing to its existing YouTube Premium plan.
It currently costs S$13.98/month for an individual subscription to YouTube Premium, with an individual monthly subscription for YouTube Music costing S$10.98/month. Please note that the YouTube Premium subscription, however, also covers YouTube Music. The plan offering the best value would be a Family subscription to YouTube Premium for S$27.98/month, as it offers access to up to five people.
The rollout of YouTube Premium Lite begins today, with its full availability expected in the coming weeks.
