Toei Animation has announced that the anime series One Piece will be embarking on a hiatus after today’s release of Episode 1122. The anime will return in April 2025 with fresh episodes from the Egghead arc, which seems like an awfully long time. But fret not, One Piece fans – Crunchyroll has some new content to tide us over during the wait.
The anime streaming service will be showing One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga, which it says is a “special re-envisioned” edition of the series’ arc.

This special 21-episode cut is a refreshed version of the classic storyline, featuring modern visuals and new animation sequences, including updated opening and ending themes. The new opening We Go!, performed by Kitadani Hiroshi, will include a special guest collaboration to be announced soon. Meanwhile, the ending theme, Sailing by BE, is a new touch.
But that’s not all. To mark the series' 25th anniversary, a special 30-minute episode will also air on Crunchyroll on 20 October, which depicts the reunion of the Straw Hat crew from the perspective of the non-pirate characters. Set in the Sabaody Archipelago after the Summit War, the story follows an unnamed protagonist, a young girl and admirer of Nami, as she sets off on a small adventure.
April 2025 can’t come soon enough, but at least there are new One Piece content to tide us by until then.
