Sorry, but you can't trade this one in for Beskar steel.

I would like to see the Child.

Sideshow Collectibles has opened pre-orders for a life-sized, screen-accurate figure of Baby Yoda from the Mandalorian. The catch? It’ll cost you a measly US$350 (S$477). A small price to pay for the most Empire’s most wanted alien in the galaxy!

‘The Child’ figure - lovingly referred to by fans as Baby Yoda, will begin shipping from August to October 2020. Sideshow is known for making highly detailed collectibles - from DC Comics-themed statues to an actual life-sized Boba Fett figure. The Baby Yoda figure especially shows off Sideshow’s keen eye for detail.

The figure is made of plastic and resin, dressed in a fabric cloak. It even comes with the silver shift knob Baby Yoda is constantly swiping from the Mandalorian’s ship. It has those adorably massive eyes we’ve all fallen in love with, as well as fuzzy little tufts of hair on its head. At a glance - it looks almost indistinguishable from the real thing.

Honestly, US$350 isn’t even that much for a Sideshow collectible of this caliber, considering that their statues often go for US$600 (S$817) and above. Still, if you’re hesitating to pull that US$350 trigger, there are a few other ways you could secure the Child short of finding a tracking fob.

Disney is selling an official Baby Yoda plushie, but you could probably also find a couple of homemade creations on Etsy - if Disney hasn’t taken them down yet. Maybe you’re content with just giving your Sims their very own Baby Yoda?

If you’re looking for sheer on-screen accuracy however, Sideshow stands so far above the competition it’s not even funny. Personally - this figure gives me more creeps than warm fuzzies, but who am I to stand in the way of the internet’s adoration for this cuddly green Child?

The Mandalorian will return for a second season sometime in 2020.
