Leave it to Westworld to reveal its release date with the weirdest trailer possible.
The HBO series’ third season will arrive on March 15, 2020 - in just two months! A new trailer for this season revealed the release date, along with new information on the world Dolores has found herself in.

Westworld is set in an alternate timeline from ours in the year 2058, according to the trailer. Apparently, in the real world outside of Westworld - the android-filled theme park - the world has been thrown from one political disaster into the next for a very long time. Recently however, a ‘system’ has kept things in check.
The voiceover (seemingly ripped from an upcoming episode) then notes that there is just one thing the system never accounted for… you. If I were a betting man, I’d say the voice is referring to Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), a rogue android who broke free from Westworld and plans to bring an android revolution to the real world.

The ‘system’ also sounds remarkably similar to showrunner Jonathan Nolan’s previous series, Person of Interest, which featured a similar system keeping tabs on humanity and course-correcting them.
Westworld Season 3 will take place immediately after Season 2, with Dolores befriending a criminal named Caleb (Aaron Paul) in a futuristic Los Angeles. Maeve (Thandie Newton) on the other hand, finds herself in another park themed after World War II in Nazi Germany. Jeffrey Wright and Ed Harris will also return as Bernard and the Man in Black, respectively.
