Netflix thinks that these television sets are best for their shows
Having a Netflix subscription is only a part of the entire formula. Exploiting that subscription requires a TV that supports 4K resolution and HDR, too.
Cutting the cord in favor of a Netflix subscription (or web-streaming subscriptions in general) is merely part of the process in moving towards a true Internet-connected age of entertainment. The second half - acquiring a 4K HDR television set – is a little costlier, but it takes advantage of the growing list of 4K HDR content made available through these services.
If Netflix is your primary source for shows, you’ll be pleased to know that the streaming service put out a list of “recommended” 2017 television sets that favors their service.
Basically, if the smart TV starts their app up quickly, has easy access to Netflix (a physical button or icon), and the most updated Netflix version with a decent UI, it passes Netflix’s criteria for recommendation.
