Let’s jam.

Netflix has released its first official images of the upcoming live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop. These pictures finally give us a proper look at what John Cho looks like in his full Spike Spiegel outfit, as well as the rest of the Bebop’s crew - and Ein the dog!

While anime Spike had a certain lanky swagger that might’ve been difficult to translate to live-action, it looks like John Cho is doing a bang up job of things. Cho’s Spike dons the iconic purple suit with rolled sleeves, white shirt with turned up collars and eternally loose tie. Spike’s puffed-up and messy hair is here as well, though a little less huge than his anime counterpart.

We also get a good look at the other two members of the Bebop’s crew: Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) and Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir). While some alterations have been made here and there in bringing their signature looks to life on the silver screen, it’s actually pretty impressive how much has been kept intact. Of course, the crew isn’t truly complete without Ein the corgi, and Netflix didn’t leave us without a good look at the puppy either.

Cowboy Bebop will also star Alex Hassell as Vicious and Elena Satine as Julia. While Ed only joins the crew later in the anime, Netflix has confirmed the character will also appear this season. The anime’s composer Yoko Kanno is returning for this series. The anime's director Shinichirō Watanabe consulted on the series as well.

Cowboy Bebop will hit Netflix on 19 November, 2021. See you then, space cowboy.
