Netflix to launch mobile-only streaming plan in India
The mobile-only streaming plan only allows you to stream content on a mobile device.
Netflix is introducing a lower-priced mobile-screen plan later this year.
Slated for launch in Q3, the mobile-only streaming plan will initially be available in India. Netflix believes it is an effective way to introduce a bigger group of consumers in India to its video streaming service and to expand its business in a market where Pay TV ARPU is below $5.
The announcement of the mobile-only streaming plan came alongside its latest financial results where Netflix reported a loss of 130,000 customers in the U.S and much slower growth overseas. The company blamed the poor results on higher prices and a weak slate of TV content.
