Spring has settled, and Summer is coming. Anime streaming service Crunchyroll has officially announced its Summer 2025 anime season lineup, featuring over 40 new and returning series scheduled to stream between late June and August.  Among the biggest highlights of the lineup are the much-anticipated returning titles such as Dandadan Season 2, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, and My Dress-Up Darling Season 2

Kicking things off on 28 June is the premiere of Lord of Mysteries and Takopi’s Original Sin. Lord of Mysteries is set in a dark, Victorian-era world of occult dread and secret organisations, while Takopi’s Original Sin is a six-episode sci-fi drama about an alien who lands on Earth intending to spread happiness, only to discover the complexities of human emotion.

From July onwards, longtime fans can look forward to the return of Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 4 on 1 July, where Kazuya’s love confession takes centre stage during a trip to Hawaii. 2 July follows up with several fantasy-heavy titles including Clevatess, a story about a resurrected warrior and an orphaned child navigating a dying world, and Onmyo Kaiten Re: Birth Verse, where time travel, parallel worlds, and magic collide. Also debuting that day is Season 2 of Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon, continuing the bizarre journey of a man reincarnated as (you guessed it), a vending machine.

3 July is another date to take note of with the return of Dandadan Season 2. Fresh off the theatrical release of Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, fans can look forward to more of Momo and Okarun’s paranormal adventures. 4 July features Secrets of the Silent Witch, introducing a prodigious but painfully shy magic user on a top-secret mission, and Arknights: RISE FROM EMBER, a sci-fi continuation of the game-based franchise.

More returning titles follow with My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 leading the charge on 5 July. Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Season 2 premieres on 6 July and Grand Blue Dreaming Season 2 on 7 July. The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 arrives on 9 July, bringing Naofumi and his friends into new journeys filled with political turmoil. Meanwhile, Kaiju No. 8, the monster-fighting action series that debuted last year, will return on 19 July, continuing the story of Kafka’s double life as a Defence Force officer and a Kaiju.

A few of the other titles coming this Summer include:

  • Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus - 5 July
  • Gachiakuta – 6 July
  • Cultural Exchange with a Game Centre Girl - 6 July
  • Nyaight of the Living Cat - 6 July
  • Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE Cour 2 – 10 July
  • Let’s Go Karaoke! – 24 July
  • Captivated, By You – 20 August

Finally, in addition to the summer debuts, Crunchyroll will continue airing select Spring 2025 titles. Summer Pockets will have new episodes on Mondays, whereas To Be Hero X and Anne Shirley will air their latest episodes on Saturdays. Rounding out the week on Sunday will be Witch Watch and One Piece.
