Netflix has officially released the teaser for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, nearly six months after revealing the first episode title. The long-awaited final chapter will premiere on 26 November and will be split into three volumes: Volume 1 drops on 26 November, Volume 2 on 25 December, and the grand finale on 31 December.
Released on Wednesday (16 July), the teaser dives straight into the world of Hawkins. Set to a rendition of Deep Purple’s Child in Time, the trailer opens with a glimpse of Steve Harrington, now working at the WSQK radio station. But the quiet doesn’t last as it quickly becomes apparent that Hawkins has been overrun by the Upside Down.

The teaser seems to confirm that the final season is set in the fall of 1987, with Hawkins under military quarantine. The town is shown in chaos as Demogorgons stalk the streets, fires rage, and military forces battle supernatural threats. In one scene, Mike Wheeler announces, “Burn commencing,” as troops race through the wreckage.
Elsewhere, Max Mayfield is shown lying in a coma following her near-fatal encounter with Vecna in Season 4. Lucas Sinclair is seen by her side, holding her hand in silence. Will Byers, who is still connected to the Upside Down, collapses in distress. Near the end of the trailer, Vecna inevitably makes a return, saying, “Found you.”
The cast for Season 5 includes Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay, a new character introduced in the final arc. She joins returning stars Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), and others.
According to the official synopsis, the group’s mission is to find and destroy Vecna, though his location and plans remain unknown. Meanwhile, Eleven is forced back into hiding as the government intensifies its operations in Hawkins. As the anniversary of Will’s original disappearance approaches, the town is once again engulfed in a growing sense of dread.
All previous seasons of Stranger Things are currently available to stream on Netflix, with subscription plans starting at S$15.98 per month. If that sounds a little higher than you remember it’s because Netflix raised prices in Singapore earlier this year.
