There is an absolutely staggering amount of TV shows and movies coming out on streaming services these days. Next month looks to be no exception, with the launch of several new Apple TV+ shows. For your sake, we’ve come up with a list of 10 movies and TV shows worth checking out. Binge away!

John Krasinski returns in another action packed season as Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst pulled from his desk job and thrown into the field in another series of dangerous covert missions. This time, the show will go to South America as Jack unravels another conspiracy. If you squint really hard, you can just pretend this is Jim Halpert’s life post-The Office, so that’s a bonus. Speaking of actors from The Office...

The Morning Show (November 1) - Apple TV+

I’ll be honest - this show made it onto the list because of its star power alone. Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon - all in one TV show? The series centers on a fictional American talk show - the titular Morning Show - and all the political drama behind its cameras. This is one of the shows headlining Apple TV+'s launch, so if you happen to have an Apple product and a hankering for political drama, this is the one for you.

Dickinson (November 1) - Apple TV+

This comedy explores the famed poet Emily Dickinson’s life, with a modern remix in tone and dialogue. Hailee Steinfeld has a tendency to do great things (Edge of Seventeen, True Grit, Bumblebee) so this has a lot of potential. If you’re intrigued, check out our review!

For All Mankind (November 1) - Apple TV+

This series takes place in an alternate timeline where the Russians put the first man on the Moon, instead of the US. This series asks one question: “What if the Space Race never ended?” For All Mankind is already getting some pretty great reviews

The King (November 1) - Netflix

This film has been getting a lot of attention recently - probably because its rising star, Timothée Chalamet. Chalamet portrays Hal in this movie, the renegade heir to the English throne. He is crowned King Henry V after the death of his tyrannical father (Ben Mendelsohn). Joel Edgerton and Robert Pattinson also star in the movie. Hey - if you like period dramas, or just want to see Pattinson’s acting chops before he takes on The Batman, this is worth a watch!

His Dark Materials (November 4) - HBO

Just as HBO’s biggest fantasy series ends, here comes another to take its throne. His Dark Materials is set in a world where all humans have animal companions called daemons, which are their souls taken form. Lyra (Dafne Keen) begins to unravel a deep conspiracy involving Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) and Marisa Coulter (Ruth Wilson), linked to a slew of child kidnappings and a mysterious substance called Dust. We’ve actually seen the first four episodes already - check out our review.

The End of the F***ing World Season 2 (November 5) - Netflix

It’s almost here! The Channel 4 dark British comedy returns, after an enormous cliffhanger in the Season 1 finale. I won’t spoil it - but this series has been making waves due to how quirky its premise is. Initially, it went: James meets Alyssa - his classmate who wishes to run away from her unfortunate life at home. He agrees, with the intention of killing her - believing that he’s a psychopath. Naturally, things don’t quite work out that way.

Klaus (November 15) - Netflix

November is, for some, the time to start hanging up those Christmas decorations! Klaus is a Christmas movie about a postal academy student - Jesper (Jason Schwartzman). Jesper is stationed on a frozen island with unfriendly locals. He soon finds an ally in local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones) and Klaus (J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter with a cabin full of handmade toys. Just look at that gorgeous 2D animated art style (and ignore the terrible trailer music)!

The Crown Season 3 (November 17) - Netflix

Now, this one is a special case. This historical drama covers Queen Elizabeth’s life, from her time as a princess to her reign as queen. The first two seasons had Claire Foy and Matt Smith portray Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, respectively. This season will see Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies portray the Queen and Prince Philip in a wholly rebooted cast. The show is entering the next phase of the Queen’s life, and it’ll be interesting to see how it switches things up.

The Irishman (November 27) - Netflix

https://www.youtube.com/embed/WHXxVmeGQUc

Martin Scorsese reunites with legendary actors Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci in just the kind of movie that (arguably) made their careers: A gangster movie. Enter Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro), a mob hitman and World War II veteran. This movie takes us through the events of his life, particularly the role he played in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. If nothing else, you should check this one out just for the remarkable de-aging technology it uses.
