Fallout season 2 brings us back to a fan-favourite location with a new teaser trailer
Insert a joke about patrolling the Mojave here

The Fallout TV series, which first aired on Prime Video last year, was a gamble on both Bethesda and Amazon’s part. But it’s a gamble that’s paid off, as the show’s first season garnered multiple Emmy nominations, a Game Awards win and almost immediate confirmation of a season 2.
And at Gamescom 2025, we were treated to a teaser trailer for that second season. Take a look at it here:

It picks up where the show left off, as Cooper Howard/The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and Dogmeat journey through the Mojave Wasteland, the setting for 2011’s Fallout: New Vegas. This comes after the climactic end of the last season in California, with our main characters in search of Lucy’s father, Hank (Kyle MacLachlan). Other returning characters include Lucy’s brother, Norm (Moisés Arias) and Brotherhood of Steel knight Maximus (Aaron Moten).
New Vegas, a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas that (mostly) survived the Great War, was a central location in the titular game. The second season appears to be a follow-up to what happened after the events of Fallout: New Vegas, though if the shots of the city in ruin are accurate, it’s certainly seen better days.
Other notable tidbits include the appearance of Caesar’s Legion, which was a faction featured in Fallout: New Vegas, and a battle set in a snowy mountain (perhaps a flashback scene to the war in Alaska, which was partially depicted in Fallout 3’s Operation Anchorage DLC). Closing out the trailer was the appearance of a deathclaw, one of the franchise’s deadliest mutant monsters.

Finally, the trailer also features Mr. House (Justin Theroux) as a supporting character for season 2. House was a major figure in Fallout: New Vegas, acting as the city’s ruler and a main plot driver, depending on which route you pick in the game.
The character first got a cameo in the last season at a Vault-Tec meeting, but gets a more prominent role in this trailer, meeting Howard in the pre-war scenes. This could perhaps tie-in to certain remarks from Mr. House in Fallout: New Vegas, where he describes how he protected the city from being destroyed during the war. It’ll be interesting to see if House’s depiction in the second season will stay consistent with that.

It’ll also be interesting to see how the writers will resolve the ending of Fallout: New Vegas, given that the game (as of now, at least) doesn’t have a canon ending. We’ll find out if they’ll reconcile this by adopting one of the game’s routes as canon, or if they come with something entirely new, when the show returns to Prime Video on 17 December 2025.
Additionally, we also know that the show is renewed for a season 3, and that episodes will air once a week, instead of being released in entirety as the previous season was. The finale is currently set for 4 February 2026.
