It's been long-teased, but we're now only a few days away from getting it in our hands. Magic: The Gathering is releasing collaboration sets with Final Fantasy, set to release on Friday, 13 June, as part of its Universes Beyond brand, a crossover series where famous IPs get the TCG treatment, courtesy of Wizards of the Coast.
For this release, Wizards of the Coast is committed to letting the world of Final Fantasy shine, drawing inspiration from the 16 mainline games in what will be the largest collection of Final Fantasy artwork ever seen in a single game.
This is especially true as Wizards of the Coast has brought in guest artists who've worked on Final Fantasy themselves to illustrate the cards. In fact, they've just showcased two new Borderless cards, illustrated by Toshiyuki Itahana and Toshitaka Matsuda, respectively.

The collaboration will be split mainly into three sets. The main Standard-legal set (FIN) will contain 309 cards, while each of the Commander Decks (FIC) will feature 25 new-to-Magic cards (alongside a deck of 100 ready-to-play Magic cards). Lastly Final Fantasy: Through the Ages (FCA) is a bonus sheet with 64 reprint cards, a good number of which were illustrated by acclaimed artist Yoshitaka Amano. Though, you will also find a couple of cards drawn by Amano and Tetsuya Nomura in the FIN set, too.
This collaboration will also feature a new card type modeled after the summons in Final Fantasy, dubbed Saga Creatures. This new card type combines the pre-existing Saga and Creatures card type, which has already caused speculation about how they'll work practically. Take a look at the Leviathan summons:

This collaboration is up for release in a couple days, but what's more, you can also look forward to a couple celebratory events being held right here in Singapore, as well as in Thailand and the Philippines. A pop-up will be held this weekend, 14 to 15 June, at Level 1 of Suntec City's West Wing, which will feature mini games and learn-to-play sessions for new players, a Sealed Event, as well as a Commander Pod. The pop-up will open from 9am to 9pm.
For those in other parts of SEA, the Thailand event will run at Esplanade Ratchadapisek in Bangkok from 14 to 15 June, and SM City North EDSA in Manila from 21 to 22 June.
Additionally, players from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines can also take part in a Chocobo Racing Event, running from 13 June to 24 July. Based on the Final Fantasy VII Chocobo Racing mini-game, the events will be held in Draft and Sealed formats, and players can stand to win points; a Chocobo AR pin and poster are up for grabs if you accumulate enough points. Plus, the Sealed Events will also have exclusive prizes of their own, in the form of metal tokens of these three card designs:

The FIN set will arrive in a Starter Kit, which consists of two 60-card preconstructed decks, Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, alongside the Commander Decks and Collector's Edition Commander Decks, and Bundles. You can find more info about the collaboration, including more card images, here.
