LEGO launches Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage set in Singapore
This is LEGO's biggest brick-built T. rex yet.
LEGO just launched its biggest brick-built T. rex ever in Singapore. Model designer Mark Stafford flew in for the unveiling of the Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage set earlier today, which features 3,120 pieces and several iconic set pieces from the 1993 movie. The model T. rex boasts snapping jaws and a posable head, arms, legs and tail as well, standing 22cm tall and measuring 69cm long.
The familiar Jurassic Park gate hides several vignettes from the original 1993 film, paying homage to famous scene and features. There's the toilet that Donald Gennaro runs to during the T. rex attack, the control room with a mini chair, and printed keyboard tiles and stickered monitors. On top of that, there's even a tiny green frog inside the T. rex's mouth, a sly reference to the frog DNA that was used to patch the gaps in the dinosaur's DNA sequence in the movie.
The set also comes with a collectible set of six mini figures, including Ian Malcom, Ray Arnold, John Hammond, Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, and Dennis Nedry. The attention to detail is impressive here, and fans will appreciate things like Hammond's amber-topped cane, Grant's raptor claw fossil, and Nedry's yellow raincoat.
As a final touch, there's even a T. rex facts plate that you can display with your favorite theropod.
Stafford is best known for LEGO toy lines such as Exo-Force and Ninjago, but the Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage set is his first ‘Expert’ model in his 12-year stint as LEGO designer.
The set is available to buy now at a hefty S$379.90.
