Konami has also confirmed that the game is being written by Ryukisshi07, the same writer behind the Higurashi and Umineko Japanese visual novels.
Konami isn't ready to share what the story is about, but says it aims to "find the beauty in terror".
You play as the protaganist, Shimizu Hinako, who was living her life as an ordinary teenager until her town is suddenly shrouded in fog and begins to change in a horrific way.
And must explore a town she no longer recognises and try to survive while fighting...you guessed it, the supernatural.
Silent Hill f will be an original story, so new players can jump in easily. But Konami also says there will be plenty of Easter Eggs to surprise long-time fans.
Konami did reveal that the game takes place in the fictional Japanese town of Ebisugaoka, which is based on a real place called Kanayama, Gero, in the Gifu Prefecture. Prepare to list it down in your next to-visit place in Japan.
Konami is also bringing back long-time Silent Hill composer, Akira Yamaoka, as well as Kensuke Inage to create music for the game.
There's no word on the game's release date, but Konami has come out on the record saying that Silent Hill f will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
