YouTube reportedly testing "Playables" gaming service

Google is said to be asking employees to test out a "Playables" feature for YouTube.

Google might be getting back into the cloud gaming space. Earlier this year, the company shut down Stadia for good.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Google sent an email to employees to test out a "Playables" feature for YouTube. The feature reportedly allows users to play games on the YouTube mobile app and through the browser.

While it is unclear how many games are available on "Playables", the Wall Street Journal says there is one game, Stack Bounce that requires players to smash layers of bricks with a bouncing ball.

A YouTube spokesperson shared that "gaming has long been a focus" and the company is "always experimenting with new features". However, it has nothing to announce at the moment.
