The Xbox One has a new controller, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller

We knew that Microsoft might be introducing a refresh of the Xbox One controller at E3. What we did not know (or expect), was the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller.

Microsoft's just unveiled the rumored new Xbox One (and PC) controller and it's a doozy. Called the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, the new controller looks like a sleek, hardcore version of the current Xbox One controller. Customization is the name of the game for the controller as nearly every single facet of it can be customized, with additional triggers, thumbpads and even the D-pad being removable. It's a modular controller that should allow everybody to customize theirs to how they want the controller to be.

We wonder if the additional triggers at the back of the controller can be used in conjunction with the original triggers and bumpers or are meant to replace them. If they can be used in conjunction, we wonder how widespread the new controller adoption might be, considering that it might be giving gamers who use it an unfair advantage with additional input options.

Microsoft hasn't released a new price or release date other than it'll be available later this year.
