Fable is back!

Microsoft has made the startling announcement that their fantasy franchise Fable is making a grand return. Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase, the new Fable game will be developed by Forza Horizon developer Playground Games.

Clearly, Playground’s work on Fable is not too far along. All we got from the game was a short cinematic trailer showing off fantastical visuals in a magical world. The trailer follows a joyful fairy flying about in a jungle-like environment, before being snatched out of the air and eaten by a frog. Oof.

Based on the trailer alone, it looks like Fable won’t be taking itself too seriously. The last game in the franchise was Fable: The Journey, released back in 2012. Playground Games’ Fable will launch on Xbox Series X and Windows PC at an unspecified date.
