The Xbox 20/20 event on July 23 is all about the games

There's no hardware reveal on the agenda, but more games are always good.

Is Microsoft on the defensive after Sony's fierce one-two back in June? Or are they simply waiting for the right opportunity to bust out a deadly uppercut?

Either way, it seems that we won't be getting any more hardware reveals at next week's Xbox 20/20 showcase. Instead, General Manager of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg has confirmed via Twitter that the hour-long event will feature nothing but new games, which is also good in its own way. I mean, we haven't seen much regarding the Xbox Series X's console exclusives yet - Halo Infinite is probably the only one we really have a bead on at this point in time, so seeing more of what the console has to offer is still going to be interesting.

Besides that, it's also possible that Microsoft is just waiting to unleash its own flurry of blows by revealing the hardware, pricing and release date all at once. Because just like the PlayStation 5, which has its Digital Edition, there's supposedly a "disc-less" version of the Series X too, which we can assume will, like its competitor ditch the disk drive in favour of a slightly smaller profile and form factor, among other things.

Anyway, the stream is set to begin on July 23 at 9 am PDT, which is 12 am on Friday (July 24) for those of us in Singapore. Although Microsoft might not yet be making a definitive counterattack against Sony for the time being, there should still be a ton of good stuff to cover this round - our fingers are crossed for more Halo Infinite gameplay.
