Another talent gone too soon.

If you've already given the demo for Capcom's upcoming title Resident Evil Village a shot, you might have already boarded the hype train for the towering aristocrat (and supposed vampire) Lady Dimitrescu, who you'll often find flanked by a number of witches that can morph into a swarm of pestilent insects.
But here's where the bad news comes in. While we (and the entire RE community) remain excited for the game's arrival on store shelves, it is unfortunate that the voice actress behind Lady Dimitrescu's devoted followers, Jeanette Maus will not be able to celebrate the premiere with us. According to a post by Capcom's Dev 1 account, the 39-year-old passed away earlier this month after a long battle with colon cancer, with the publisher stating that they were "deeply saddened" by her passing.

Naturally, they proceeded to extend their sincere condolences to Maus' family and friends, as do we. But in a heartwarming display of respect for a fallen artist and more importantly, a person, many members of the Resident Evil community also stepped up to offer their sympathy and admiration for Maus' work. It's especially moving when you consider that this was not only Maus' first time working on the Resident Evil series but on video games in general.
The actress, who primarily worked as a voice acting coach at a West Hollywood drama school called John Rosenfeld Studios has previously lent her talents to 2020's Charm City Kings, and has helped in writing 2008's My Effortless Brilliance, among several other acting roles. But talents aside, while it's certainly tragic to see her go so young, it's also encouraging to see how the community came together to grieve and pay tribute to her work, despite her having joined the "family" only recently.
