Ubisoft has announced a delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally scheduled for release on 14 February, the game’s launch has now been postponed to 20 March. This is now the second delay for the game, which was initially slated to launch on 15 November 2024, before its first rescheduling.
The delay, announced as part of a broader “strategic update” from Ubisoft, was made to allow the development team additional time to incorporate player feedback gathered over the past three months. In a statement (seen below), Ubisoft emphasised its focus on gameplay quality and delivering a compelling Day-1 experience.
The delay comes amidst a challenging period for Ubisoft. From the shutdown of XDefiant to the slow sales of Star Wars Outlaws, the company has even appointed advisors to explore “transformational strategic and capitalistic options” to maximize stakeholder value. All we can do now is wait for the game to release and for more information, readers can check out the official social media page of Assassins Creed here.
