The regional segment of the Taiko No Tatsujin World Championship is taking place at Timezone Orchard Exchange on 13 April, 2-6pm, and is open to those who have been selected in the General Division Preliminary Contests.
That said, fans of the drumming game are encouraged to head over to the amusement outlet and catch the regional tournament in all its glory taiko action, where one winner will participate in the Finals Tournament Advance Challenge.

It’s here where things get really interesting: They will play one additional song that is not chosen from the three final round songs. The total score for all three final round songs will be recorded in the Worldwide Ranking list on the official tournament website, and only the top 29 players in the Worldwide Ranking may advance to the World Championship held in Tokyo.
Here’s wishing all taiko drummers the best of luck – and I’m crossing fingers that a Singaporean will earn one of the 29 spots in the World Ranking list.
