SteelSeries has introduced a new Arctis Nova 5 Wireless gaming headset to complement its growing range, now filling the mid-range bracket with a competent all-rounder.

Like most modern wireless gaming headsets, SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 uses both Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, but it also has a Quick Switch Wireless button that lets you switch between both connections on the fly. This allows gamers to take phone calls and stay connected to the call should in-game action suddenly heat up.

The Arctis Nova 5 Wireless is also cross-compatible with multiple gaming platforms. Besides the usual suspects like game consoles (Xbox, PlayStation) and PCs, it’s also compatible with handhelds (Nintendo Switch, Meta Quest) as well as Android and iOS phones and tablets for those who indulge in mobile gaming at home.

Another feature is the companion app called Nova 5 which comes with the headset. This app contains game-specific audio presets crafted by its respective audio engineers, eSports athletes, and game developers. The app currently supports over 100 specific titles, which means there’s a high chance that the game you enjoy most would likely have its preset already prepared to help you win. The presets can be changed in real time without leaving the game. SteelSeries’s official statement mentioned supported titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Minecraft, “and more”.

Another companion app is the Sonar Audio Software Suite, which lets users control details across their games, team chats, and the microphone, for even more granular and personalised adjustments.

For voice communication with teammates, the Arctis Nova 5 Wireless uses a ClearCast microphone that supports up to 32kHz/16-bit audio and its in-built Sonar AI-Powered Noise Cancellation to reduce noise both ways.

Finally, SteelSeries claimed that the headset packs in 60 hours of battery life, on top of a USB-C charging port that can offer six hours of charge in 15 minutes.
