PUBG Mobile's huge new 1.0 update will launch in September
The popular battle royale game is getting a graphical facelift.

PUBG Mobile is hitting a milestone.
The PUBG Mobile team have just announced that the hit battle royale game is finally getting a big 1.0 version update in September. The game first launched in 2018 and has 50 million active daily players worldwide, with over 600 million downloads in total. This update has been a long time coming.

PUBG Mobile’s 1.0 update will launch on September 8, delivering a complete overhaul to the game. Graphical upgrades are coming to the main lobby, lighting, texture quality, environments and player characters - giving everything a bit of a facelift. Gunplay will also be improved, with new details such as smoke particles, air blasts, muzzle flashes and additional scope interaction.
Controls, visuals and sound quality are generally getting upgrades, along with the game’s user interface. A spokesperson from PUBG Mobile said:
We want to thank every single one of our players for joining us on our journey to the version 1.0 launch. Throughout the design and development process we’ve been adamant on keeping the iconic PUBG MOBILE IP and style, while we’ve continued to innovate to deliver the ultimate experience for mobile devices.

The PUBG Mobile team also announced that the PUBG Mobile World League (PMWL) and World Championship have been combined into a single event: the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC). The event is tentatively scheduled to kick off in late November.
