PSA: You can also order the HTC Vive from Harvey Norman
Harvey Norman is the exclusive launch partner for HTC Vive in Singapore.
Last month, we reported that HTC has quietly launched its Vive VR headset in Singapore. Turns out, in addition to HTC’s online store, the Vive can also be ordered from Harvey Norman, who is the exclusive launch partner for a month starting today, December 14.
According to Harvey Norman, you can place your order at Games Hub at Millenia Walk and any other Harvey Norman stores. Harvey Norman also encourages that you place your order soonest to be in time for Christmas delivery. With a dedicated VR demo room at the Games Hub section of the Harvey Norman flagship store in Singapore, you can even have a hands-on session before considering to purchase it.
We’re currently checking with Harvey Norman if it is offering any offers or promos if one was to buy the Vive from its outlets, and when stock will arrive for customers to do a walk-in purchase. We’ll update this news when we hear more from Harvey Norman.

While the HTC Vive VR headset is priced at S$1,349 (similar to HTC's online store offer), Harvey Norman is offering a S$200 discount off any VR-ready PC or notebook (priced above S$2,000) in conjunction with the VR headset pre-order period. This offer is not valid after the pre-order period and you can't combine it with any other ongoing store promotions.
For those of you undecided at the moment, Harvey Norman expects the retail store stocks to come in before 23rd December for walk-in purchase. But if you intend to beef up your current system to tackle VR gaming smoothly, it's best to take advantage of the pre-order system purchase discount option now. Not sure what are the system requirements? Check here.
Lastly, here's our hands-on experience with the VR headset.
