Pokemon TCG Pocket's newest pack, Mythical Island, features Mew EX and more
This will be the first pack added to the game aside from the original Genetic Apex pack.

Pokemon TCG Pocket has announced the upcoming release of its new themed booster pack, the Mythical Island pack. This expansion highlights the Psychic-type Mythical Pokemon Mew in its EX form, alongside a wide selection of new cards. The set includes basic Pokemon such as Dedenne, Morelull, and Snivy, as well as rarer cards like Vaporeon, Aerodactyl EX, Celebi, and the star of the pack, Mew EX.
The Mythical Island expansion adds over 80 new cards to the game, with five EX cards and five Trainer cards. Inspired by an island theme, the expansion features pocket monsters inhabiting environments like forests, lakes, and plateaus. The set also introduces themed accessories such as binders and display boards, further immersing players in the island atmosphere.
In conjunction with the expansion, a solo battle event will take place, allowing players to face off against decks featuring Mew EX, Mewtwo EX, Aerodactyl EX, and Marowak EX. Participants can earn rewards like Shinedust, Pack Hourglass, and Shop tickets. The Mythical Island pack will be available starting 17 December, when players can begin collecting the new cards either through booster packs or the Wonder Pick feature.
As of now, there is no confirmed end date for the Mythical Island pack, and it remains uncertain whether it will be a permanent addition to the game. The Mythical Island pack is the second expansion for Pokemon TCG Pocket, following the original release of the game which included the Genetic Apex pack, which featured Charizard, Pikachu, and Mewtwo.
Aside from the Mythical Island pack, players can also look forward to additional booster pack variations before the end of 2024, as announced by the Pokemon TCG Pocket operations team. As for the game itself, the developers are working on a trading feature, set to launch sometime in January 2025.
The Mythical Island expansion will be released globally on 17 December with the expansion’s highlight undoubtedly being the Mew EX card. Although the developers have yet to announce an exact release time, updates for Pokemon TCG Pocket typically roll out at 2pm (SGT), so players can likely expect the new content to be available at that time.
