Pokémon Go isn't launching this week after all

Niantic has said that there are no announced plans at this point to release Pokémon Go outside of New Zealand, Australia, US and Germany. Bummer.

The rumors were wrong after all. Niantic has now refuted in no uncertain terms reports that Pokémon Go would be officially launched in Europe and Asia in the coming days.

You can find the full statement they made (via their agency fortyseven.com) to IGN below:

"The team is currently heads down working on the game. We do not have any announced plans for countries beyond New Zealand, Australia, US and Germany at the moment."

In the meantime, you can still download the game using certain workarounds. There won’t be much to do in the game as the local servers aren’t yet live, but you can still check out certain aspects of it ahead of time.
