I’ve been very excited about NVIDIA’s Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) ever since it was demonstrated at CES 2024 and then again at Computex 2024. Very soon, we’ll get to see ACE being used in a published game too. Mecha Break, a multiplayer mecha game developer by Amazing Seasun Games, will be the first PC game to be integrated with the NVIDIA technology.

You can catch a very cool demo of how it really works in the video below.

In the recent demo for the game, we see a player interact with an NPC to get advice on which mech to choose for an upcoming mission. While the character's responses are generally lifelike, I thought the immersion falters a little when the NPC refers to "players" instead of something more contextually appropriate, like "pilots." It’s a minor detail, and I’m sure it’s easily improved on the backend.

For those unfamiliar, ACE is NVIDIA’s attempt to change the way players interact with in-game narrations by leveraging a combination of AI models to create lifelike, responsive NPCs. First introduced through the Ramen Shop demo last year, ACE enables NPCs to process dynamic, non-scripted inputs and generate real-time responses, offering more organic and varied dialogues.

In addition to ACE, Mecha Break will also support NVIDIA’s DLSS technology, including DLSS 3 frame generation.
