Unlike some earlier reports, these cards will be using the GK107 GPU, which is a true Kepler architecture based entry-level GPU. While this very same GT 640 series also enlists the older GF116 Fermi based part (only has 144 stream processors), fortunately these are relegated to OEM-only parts. Still, it would be wise to pay more attention to the specs when you do chance upon an extremely inexpensive GeForce GT 640 graphics card.
